Towns and cities in Whatcom County
Acme - Acme, Washington is a small town in Whatcom County located approximately 18 miles from Bellingham on Highway 9. 2000 Census Data - Acme

Bellingham - The county seat of Whatcom County and the most heavily populated city in the county, too. Bellingham is home to Western Washington University, Bellingham Technical College, Whatcom Community College and many primary and secondary schools.

Bellingham has been selected many times as a "best place" to live and retire.

Blaine - The beach-front city of Blaine is located approximately 25 miles north of Bellingham, on the border between Canada and the US. Blaine is home to The Peace Arch International Park. 2000 Census Data - Blaine
Deming - Located 17 miles east of Bellingham, on the scenic Mt. Baker Highway, you'll find Deming - home to the Mt. Baker Vineyard, The North Fork Brewery and Pizzeria and the Nooksack Casino. Host city to the Deming Logging Show and the Baker Blues Festival.

Everson - Everson is located approximately 15 miles from Bellingham. Everson is a charming, family-friendly community with shopping and services available.

Ferndale - Ferndale is home to Hovander Homestead Park , Tennant Lake Interpretive Center and Fragrance Garden, and is just 10 miles west of Bellingham. Ferndale has a blend of rural farming areas as well as industrial properties.

Glacier - Glacier is the last city you will reach before entering the Mt. Baker - Snoqualmie National Forest, home to the world-famous Mt. Baker Ski Area. The only road leading to Glacier is the Mt. Baker Highway (State Route 542). Glacier features pristine forest land and amazing mountain views.

Kendall - Just about 25 miles east of Bellingham, you'll find the community of Kendall. This area of the Columbia Valley is a scenic and quickly growing area of Whatcom County.

Lynden - Located near the border of Canada, and about 15 miles north of Bellingham, you'll find the town of Lynden. Lynden is home to the Northwest Washington Fair. This charming little town's architecture features its Dutch settler roots with windmills and a delightful downtown area that draws tourists from all over the world.

Maple Falls - As you drive along the scenic Mt. Baker Highway, about halfway between Bellingham and the Mt. Baker Ski Area, you'll find the little town of Maple Falls. A turn on to Silver Lake Road will lead you to one of Whatcom County's most beautiful county parks, Silver Lake Park. Just across the road from the park you'll find the Black Mountain Forestry Center.

Nooksack - Approximately 15 miles northeast of Bellingham, and right next to Everson, you'll find the town of Everson. Nooksack is a peaceful little community dotted with farms.

Sumas - About 23 miles northeast of Bellingham is the city of Sumas. Sumas has one of the three border crossings into British Columbia, Canada. Farming and light industry are the main businesses in this community.
